Chore rotation app

A chore rotation app so nobody gets stuck doing dishes every night.

Assign a chore to multiple kids and let FamilyDash decide whose turn it is — daily, weekly, or per-occurrence. Fair, automatic, and free for unlimited kids.

One family account · No credit card · Free forever

Rotating chores fairly between siblings is the eternal fairness problem of family life. Whoever ends up tracking it manually inevitably gets accused of bias. Spreadsheets work for a week and then someone forgets to update them.

FamilyDash handles rotation automatically. Assign a chore to as many kids as you want, pick the rotation rule (daily / weekly / every time it's done), and the system decides whose turn it is. The kid whose turn it is sees the chore on their card — the others don't. Nobody has to remember.

Free forever for unlimited kids. No ads. Rotation is part of the core free chore engine, not paywalled behind a subscription.

Three rotation modes — pick what makes sense

Daily: rotates every day, regardless of who completed it. Weekly: same person all week, then rotates. Per-occurrence: rotates each time the chore is done (great for 'dishes' that happen multiple times a day).

Each kid sees only their assigned chores

When it's not your kid's turn, the chore doesn't show on their dashboard. No confusion about who's responsible, no 'I thought it was your turn.'

Manual override when life happens

If a kid is sick, traveling, or you just want to swap, you can mark a chore done by a different kid or skip a rotation cycle. The cycle picks up correctly on the next round.

Streaks count for whoever did it

Streak tracking respects rotation — when your turn comes around, your streak continues. So a kid who completes 'dishes' once a week on their assigned day gets the same streak credit as a daily chore.

Free for unlimited kids

No 'max 3 kids' cap, no per-child paywall. Add as many kids as you have, set the rotation, done. Pro adds allowance and recipe scanning but rotation itself is always free.

Common questions

How does FamilyDash rotate chores between kids?+

Assign a chore to two or more kids and pick a rotation mode: daily (rotates every day), weekly (same kid all week), or per-occurrence (rotates each time the chore is done). FamilyDash tracks whose turn it is and only shows the chore to the assigned kid each day.

What if a kid is sick or traveling and can't do their assigned chore?+

You can either mark a different kid as having done it (the rotation continues normally), skip the day entirely (no penalty to streaks), or swap turns with another kid. Rotation logic is forgiving — life happens.

Is chore rotation a paid feature?+

No — rotation is part of the free chore engine. Free includes unlimited kids, unlimited chores, all three rotation modes, streaks, push notifications, and kid PIN logins. Pro adds monetary allowance, recipe scanning, Kroger checkout, and unlimited calendar connections.

Can I see who's done what in a multi-kid rotation?+

Yes — each chore has a history of completions with who did it and when. Useful both for fairness ('did Jamie really do dishes three times this week?') and for allowance tracking.

Does rotation work with the kid's own login?+

Yes — each kid signs into their own bookmark with a 4-digit PIN. They see only chores assigned to them on the current rotation day. The parent dashboard shows the full picture.
